The 2018 WTA Tour is shaping up for a thrilling year in women’s singles tennis. With a fantastic start to the season, several players continue to make headlines. Since their success at the Australian Open, both Simona Halep and Caroline Wozniacki have swapped the world No. 1 ranking. They have also remained atop the Porsche Race to Singapore. Currently though, Wozniacki is ahead of Halep despite being the world No. 2 in women’s singles tennis.

Wozniacki and Halep are followed by Angelique Kerber in the third position.

Kerber is a former world No. 1 herself. Her place in the singles race makes her an interesting player to watch moving forward. The German great is within striking distance of Halep right now. The way Halep is playing, however, will make it difficult for Kerber to leapfrog the Romanian tennis star in the Race to Singapore. Kerber could find herself moving up though if Halep also stumbles in some of her upcoming matches.
