Caroline Wozniacki is in action against Anastasija Sevastova next at the 2018 Italian Open. The Danish tennis star has the edge.

Danish tennis star Caroline Wozniacki takes on Anastasija Sevastova next at the 2018 Italian Open. The second seed is in action against the tournament’s fifteenth seed on Thursday in Rome. Wozniacki is the current world No. 2 on the WTA Tour and is having yet another career year. To kick off 2018, Wozniacki carried her early momentum right into play at Melbourne Park. At the Grand Slam, she defeated Simona Halep in the finals to win her first career Grand Slam title.

Wozniacki and Halep are the top two seeds in Rome. Halep remains alive She takes on American Madison Keys in a much anticipated match on Thursday.

Action is heating up at the 2018 Italian Open. In women’s singles, several top seeds remain alive. Those include Halep and Wozniacki. Also still in action is the tournament’s defending champion Elina Svitolina. She takes on Daria Kasatkina next at the WTA Tour Premier 5 event. Meeting Halep in the finals last year, Svitolina took home the title, going 4–6, 7–5, 6–1 over the Romanian tennis star. This year, it looks as though another fantastic finals is in the making.

Caroline Wozniacki is battling with Simona Halep for the sport’s top ranking. The two continue to challenge one another in the singles rankings and the Race to Singapore.

Wozniacki and Halep continue to swap the world No. 1 ranking in women’s singles tennis. Also in play is the top position in the Race to Singapore. Wozniacki has the edge there while Halep hangs onto a slim lead in the women’s singles rankings. There is a handful of players who can make a run at any given tournament right now though. The favorites in Rome are not limited to both Halep and Wozniacki. Other rising stars and veteran great remain in play and could continue deep into the action at the 2018 Italian Open.
