Former world No. 1 Angelique Kerber is in rare form on the 2018 WTA Tour. She appears to be back, playing some of her best tennis.

Angelique Kerber has remained high atop the Porsche Race to Singapore rankings in recent months. Her strong 2018 WTA Tour play has once again made her a player to beat in women’s singles tennis. After reaching career heights in 2016, Kerber slumped last year before rediscovering her game heading into this year. Now, she is back and reaching for those career bests yet again. 2016 saw her winning both the Australian and US Open.

Kerber remains in search of a French Open or Wimbledon title. Action at Roland Garros is here and she has momentum heading into the Grand Slam event.

Reaching the quarterfinals in Rome, Kerber put on an impressive display. The Italian Open saw her falling to eventual champion Elina Svitolina. She did, however, have a solid week of tennis at the WTA Tour event. Except for the occasional mishap, the German’s recent tournament appearances have featured deep runs. She is poised to continue her success here in the middle months. With action at Roland Garros coming, Kerber must be someone to watch.
