Sofia Kenin is not yet a headline name on the WTA Tour, but the young American is putting together some impressive play over the past year.

American tennis player Sofia Kenin has cracked the WTA Top 100. In fact, she rose in the rankings earlier this year after a strong performance at Indian Wells and she has maintained the status ever since. As of writing, Kenin is the world number 95 on the WTA Tour. Her last year on tour has been filled with career highlights. At just 19-years-old, Kenin is easily a top player to watch in the coming years. Women’s singles tennis is seeing a brand new generation of stars enter the mix and Kenin is poised to be one of them.

Kenin reached the third round at the 2017 US Open. With the second half of the 2018 WTA Tour here, she has a chance to outdo her previous year’s performance. At the French Open, Kenin saw an unfortunate first round loss to another young star in Naomi Osaka. The 20-year-old Osaka would advance to the round of 32, ultimately falling to American tennis star Madison Keys. It is Keys who finds herself deep into the Grand Slam, taking on fellow countrywoman Sloane Stephens in the semifinals at Roland Garros.

Sofia “Sonya” Kenin has three ITF singles titles to her name. She also has a winning record in both her singles and doubles play so far. At just 19-years-old, she is gaining valuable experience right now on the WTA Tour. Kenin should only improve from here.
