Roger Federer Kicks Off Grass Court Season With Victory

Roger Federer is back in action on the 2018 ATP World Tour. After skipping the clay court season, the Swiss great bounces right back with a win.
Roger Federer is in the winner’s circle yet again. He makes his return to the 2018 ATP World Tour after skipping the clay court season. His absence made way for King of Clay Rafael Nadal to take over per usual. Winning his 11th career French Open, Nadal continues to make history at Roland Garros. Now though, he has Federer chasing him for the world number one ranking.
The Stuttgart Open is where Federer opens up action leading into Wimbledon.

Federer defeats Mischa Zverev during his opener. He wins the match in three sets. After dropping the first set to the German tennis veteran, Federer roared back for the victory. He takes the meeting with Zverev, going 3-6 6-4 6-2.
This week at the Stuttgart Open, Federer is the tournament’s top seed. The second seed is defending champion and rising star Lucas Pouille. The Frenchman wins his opener with ease, going 6-3 6-4 over Rudolf Molleker of Germany. The 24-year-old Pouille is looking to break back into the ATP Top 10 in the near future. A strong run at Stuttgart could help his chances moving forward.
Roger Federer must reach the finals at the Stuttgart Open if he hopes to retake the world number one ranking. He would unseat French Open champion Rafael Nadal by doing so.
Roger Federer awaits his next matchup at the 2018 Stuttgart Open. With action at Wimbledon right around the corner, the Swiss superstar is looking for some momentum as he makes his return to the ATP World Tour. Last year, Federer won the men’s singles title at the Grand Slam event and he ought to be considered the heavy favorite if he looks like his usual self in the coming days. So far, so good for Federer.
