Ashleigh Barty is nearing her first 2018 WTA Tour singles title. The young tennis star appears poised to breakout at any moment.

Australian tennis and cricketer Ashleigh Barty is back on the WTA Tour. Last year, she made a defiant return to the courts by winning her first career WTA singles title. The win at Kuala Lumpur was her first in women’s singles on the tour. She is already a highly accomplished doubles player though. Barty has won 7 WTA doubles titles throughout her young career. Now, the Australian tennis star is eyeing yet another singles win in the near future.

Right now, she is making headlines at the Nottingham Open. Barty is the tournament’s top seed and faces Naomi Osaka in the semifinals. Osaka, like Barty, is one of several rising stars in the sport. Earlier this year, Osaka defeated American legion Serena Williams.
