Andy Murray is eyeing action at Wimbledon next week. The former champion appears healthy enough to compete in the Grand Slam.
Andy Murray is making progress on the tennis courts. The former world number one is looking ahead to Wimbledon 2018 in optimistic fashion. As of right now, it appears as though Murray will be healthy enough to compete. The tennis star has stated that he will make a decision this week but has come out saying that his hip is not holding him back.
The two-time Wimbledon champion is making his return from injury. At the Eastbourne International this week, Murray defeated fellow tennis star Star Wawrinka in his opening match before falling to current British number one Kyle Edmund.

Wawrinka is one of the other handful of tennis veterans also making returns from injury. Most recently, Serbian great Novak Djokovic has seen success in his own return. Others, such as Wawrinka, Murray, and Milos Raonic among others are taking more time to get back to full speed.
Murray’s game seems to be improving in the few matches that he’s played so far. A run at Wimbledon, however, would be almost entirely unheard given his current state.
Roger Federer must be considered the favorite at Wimbledon this year. He is the defending champion. While Andy Murray is a two-time champion at the event, he has played just three singles matches on the 2018 ATP World Tour.
A healthy Andy Murray will undoubtedly make Wimbledon more interested. Even if he is not 100 percent, the British tennis star is a fan favorite and would be warmly welcomed at the Grand Slam event. Federer and Rafael Nadal have taken over the 2018 ATP World Tour. They are the players to beat as we enter the middle months of the tour. Murray will determine whether or not he plays in the coming days. The decision will be based on a combination of his physical and mental state. If he’s ready to go, expect to see the former world number one in action.
