Wimbledon favorites include the likes of defending champion Garbine Muguruza, French Open champion Simona Halep, and Australian Open champion Caroline Wozniacki. Bouchard falls within a cluster of players who could play spoiler during any given match. She takes three sets to defeat Taylor, winning 6-0 4-6 6-3. After a stellar start out of the gates, Genie was forced to dig deep.

Looking at the stat line, Bouchard was the more consistent player throughout. Earning herself a well-deserved a spot in the round of 64, she takes on Ashleigh Barty next. Barty is the 17th seed.
