Kyle Edmund, Novak Djokovic: Both Cruising At Wimbledon

Kyle Edmund is in the middle of his best run yet at the Wimbledon Championships. He faces Serbian superstar Novak Djokovic next.
Kyle Edmund has taken over as the British number one in men’s singles tennis. The absence of tennis star Andy Murray due to injury, combined with the strong play of Edmund, has catapulted him in the singles rankings as of late. The 23-year-old takes on a tough opponent in Novak Djokovic next at the 2018 Wimbledon Championships.
Djokovic has a slight advantage throughout their careers in head-to-head play. It is Edmund, however, who has the momentum right now.
Looking at their most recent matchup, Edmund defeated Djokovic in Madrid earlier this year. He took the meeting in three sets, winning 6-3 2-6 6-3. With the Serbian great continuing his return to the ATP World Tour from injury, Edmund is the fresher player. Djokovic has seen some success since making his return, but it is difficult to say whether or not he is back to his old self. So far at Wimbledon, both Edmund and Djokovic are yet to drop a single set. With both players surging in London, all eyes on are their round of 32 matchup. The two await their court assignment and match time right now. Edmund is the No. 21 seed whereas Djokovic is the No. 12 seed in the men’s singles draw this year.
Novak Djokovic is a three-time Wimbledon champion in men’s singles tennis. The 31-year-old Serbian is, however, continuing a return from lingering injuries. Kyle Edmund ought to have a chance at a victory in the round of 32.
Elsewhere at the 2018 Wimbledon Championships, Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal are continuing on. Other veteran greats such as John Isner, Juan Martin del Potro, and Milos Raonic are also in the mix. The men’s singles draw has definitely seen fewer top seeds fall due to upsets than the women’s singles field.
