Roger Federer: Wimbledon Loss Will Not Hold Him Back

Roger Federer falls in the quarterfinals at Wimbledon this year. The loss should not cloud his already stellar 2018 ATP World Tour.
Swiss great Roger Federer exits the 2018 Wimbledon Championships earlier than expected. But by earlier than expected we mean the quarterfinals. For most players, it would be a dream run at a Grand Slam to reach go that far. For Federer though, the expectations are high. He is a eight-time champion in men’s singles tennis at Wimbledon. Federer falls, however, to South African tennis star Kevin Anderson in a five set thriller that could have gone either way.
Don’t let the upset fool you. There is no doubt that Federer will bounce back from this quickly. He already has one Grand Slam title on the year from the Australian Open. All eyes are on him for the second half of the 2018 ATP World Tour.

Federer is a five-time champion at the US Open. While he hasn’t won there since 2008, the Swiss legend has defied the odds as of late, winning like never before at 36-years-old. Do not discount him as we enter the second half of the year. He and Rafael Nadal have taken over the tour this year. Rafa remains in action at Wimbledon, reaching the semifinals where he will face off against Novak Djokovic. Their matchup is a complete toss-up.
Nadal is surging this year, winning his 11th career title at the French Open. But, Djokovic has the experience necessary to take down Nadal and chase yet another Wimbledon title. Despite his injuries over the past year, Nole has found a rhythm at the major tournament in London.
Roger Federer falls to Kevin Anderson in the quarterfinals at Wimbledon. Anderson competes an unprecedented comeback over the top seed and defending champion in men’s singles. The South African faces off against John Isner in the semifinals.
