Alexander Zverev Congratulates Wimbledon Champion Angelique Kerber

Alexander Zverev congratulates Angelique Kerber on her 2018 Wimbledon women’s singles title. The two have previously paired up on the courts.
Alexander Zverev falls to Ernests Gulbis of Latvia during the Wimbledon round of 32 this year. It is the furthest he has ever reached at the Grand Slam in London though. While he did exit the event in men’s singles, his former Hopman Cup partner and fellow German tennis star Angelique Kerber has made history. Winning her third career major tournament singles title and first ever at Wimbledon, Kerber defeats American legion Serena Williams in straight sets.
Zverev took to social media on Saturday to congratulate his Hopman Cup partner.

Kerber takes down Williams, going 6-3 6-3. The win is something that will stick with her for the rest of her life. At 30-years-old, she continues to amaze fans and players alike, remaining one of the most competitive players on the WTA Tour. After a career year in 2016, she slid in the rankings this past year on tour. Now though, Kerber is back and better than ever. She will look to carry this newfound momentum right into play at the upcoming US Open. A former champion there, Kerber will undoubtedly be preparing in the coming weeks to make another run at the event.

Alexander Zverev looks to rebound from his Wimbledon 2018 performance in the coming weeks. He remains a top player in men’s singles and ought to continue to be one of the best on the ATP World Tour.
