Milos Raonic: Wimbledon Quarters Considered Major Success

Milos Raonic reaches the quarterfinals at the 2018 Wimbledon Championships. The tennis star ought to consider his run a major success.

Tennis star Milos Raonic has seen limited play on the ATP World Tour due to injury throughout the past year. His run at the 2018 Wimbledon Championships, however, must be considered a massive success. Raonic reaches the quarterfinals, falling to American John Isner in four sets. Isner would go on to the semifinals, dropping a five set epic to South African Kevin Anderson.

Raonic is just 27-years-old but has struggled due to injury as of late. He like many others such as Andy Murray, Novak Djokovic, and Kei Nishikori among others have all seen their tours interrupted by ongoing injuries. The Canadian should take plenty of positives away from Wimbledon though.

Previously, Raonic made it to the finals at Wimbledon in 2016. That year, he fell to champion Andy Murray in a tough three set match. Murray missed this year’s Grand Slam event, deciding not to play due to health reasons. He, like Raonic and others, has stayed away from the ATP World Tour due to ongoing injuries.

Djokovic is into the semifinals this year, facing off against the King of Clay Rafael Nadal. He has discovered some consistency as of late on his 2018 tour. Raonic’s recent success set him up nicely to make an impressive run at the 2018 Wimbledon Championships.

Falling to American John Isner in the quarterfinals, Milos Raonic ought to gain some much needed momentum from his time at the 2018 Wimbledon Championships as he heads into the second half of the year.

Action in men’s singles continues at Wimbledon this week. Anderson, after defeating Isner in a tough five set thriller, is into the finals. He awaits the winner of Nadal and Djokovic. As for Milos Raonic, he puts on a solid display of tennis given his recent time on the ATP World Tour. Look for him to bounce back nicely from his time at Wimbledon.
