Fabio Fognini is approaching career heights on the ATP World Tour. He is eyeing a title shot right now at the 2018 Swedish Open.

Fabio Fognini has an impressive career in men’s singles tennis. The 31-year-old Italian has gone as high as the world number 13 ranking on the ATP world Tour. On top of that, he holds six ATP singles titles and could be on the verge of a seventh. Fognini is into the finals this weekend at the Swedish Open.

Defeating another talented veteran in Fernando Verdasco, Fognini advances into the final round of play. He awaits the winner of Richard Gasquest and Henri Laaksonen.

Fognini defeats Verdasco in a tough three set thriller. Winning their meeting 6-1 4-6 7-5, the Italian tennis star battles to take their semifinals match in Bastad, Sweden. Earlier this year, Fognini notched an ATP singles title Sao Paulo. His win there made it three consecutive years on the ATP World Tour with singles titles. Such a feat is impressive for anyone to pull off. He hasn’t had a two-title year since 2013, but now Fognini has the chance to match it.
