German Open men’s singles action has reached the finals this weekend. Defending champion Leonardo Mayer must be considered the heavy favorite to take the title. He faces off against Nikoloz Basilashvili for a shot at a title defense.

Mayer is a two-time champion in men’s singles in Hamburg. Winning in both 2014 and 2017, the titles are also his only two ATP singles titles throughout his career. Mayer is comfortable in Hamburg. While German Florian Mayer gave him a strong challenge last year, the Argentine tennis veteran would ultimately take the finals meeting 6–4, 4–6, 6–3.
