Marin Cilic shot up to the world number three ranking on the ATP World Tour at the start of the year. He finished runner-up to Roger Federer at Melbourne Park.

Tennis star Marin Cilic is among the best on the 2018 ATP World Tour. Following a second-place finish to Australian Open champion Roger Federer at Melbourne Park, the Croatian great became one of the players to beat. He has maintained a top 10 ranking throughout the year and stands as the world number seven in men’s singles at the time of writing.

A more recent title win at the Queen’s Club Championships solidified his place in the top 10. While he shot out to an impressive start to the year, Cilic has just one title in 2018. His Queen’s Club title came over former world number one and 2018 Wimbledon champion Novak Djokovic.

Now, fans and players alike are eyeing Cilic down the stretch. He is a former US Open winner, taking the title at Flushing Meadows in 2014. His past success there, combined with his strong play throughout the 2018 ATP World Tour, makes him someone to watch at the final Grand Slam of the calendar year. Cilic sits in a prime position in both the men’s singles rankings and the Race to London as of right now.

Marin Cilic is gearing up for the 2018 US Open. The former champion looks to finish the year strong, remaining amongst the ATP Top 10 and within qualifying position for the Race to London.
