Canadian tennis star Eugenie Bouchard is looking to bounce back this week at the WTA 125K Chicago. The WTA event is one of a series of 11 tournaments put on throughout the year. Bouchard squares off against Kristie Ahn first in Chicago.
Ahn is a 26-year-old qualifier at the tournament. She wins her first qualifying match in straight sets, before fighting through a three-set thriller to meet Bouchard in the main draw.
At this year’s US Open, Bouchard made it through qualifying, winning each of her matches in straight sets. She then went on to defeat Harmony Tan 6-3 6-1 in her first round match. Genie would ultimately fall to Markéta Vondroušová in her next match. Vondroušová reached the round of 16 before losing to Lesia Tsurenko.
