Rising WTA star Naomi Osaka is a grand slam singles champion for the first time in her career. She is your 2018 US Open winner on the women’s singles side. Defeating American tennis legend Serena Williams, the young Japanese tennis star joins elite company.
At just 20-years-old, Osaka has burst onto the scene in women’s singles tennis. She fared well at the Australian Open, the French Open, and at Wimbledon this year. Her hard work has paid off, seeing her earn a major tournament title over the best in the sport.
Osaka defeats Williams in straight sets during the finals. She takes the historic meeting, winning 6-2 6-4.
