Roger Federer has just recently been edged by this year’s US Open champion Novak Djokovic in terms of career prize money.

Swiss Superstar Roger Federer and Serbian great Novak Djokovic are nearly tied in terms of career prize money. They are both massive earners on the ATP World Tour. On and off the courts too, both Federer and Djokovic has strong endorsement and sponsorship deals. On the tour though, Djokovic is now the top earner, overtaking Federer. He edges Federer, moving just beyond him due to his recent US Open win.

Federer has 20 grand slam titles to his name. Djokovic now has 14, but he has fared well in the last decade when prize money has greatly increased.

At 37-years-old, Federer has dominated the sport for nearly two decades. Despite his veteran status, the Swiss superstar even won the 2018 Australian Open. This year at the US Open, he saw a shocking defeat to John Millman in the round of 16. No one saw it coming. Going into play at Flushing Meadows, Djokovic was roughly two million dollars shy of Federer in terms of career prize money. His title-win was enough to boost him beyond the legendary Federer.

Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer are almost neck and neck in terms of career prize money earnings on the ATP World Tour. Grand slam titles have become more lucrative in recent years, favoring the younger Djokovic.
