What year is it? Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer, and Novak Djokovic are at the top of the men’s singles rankings after the US Open.

Rafael Nadal holds onto his position atop the men’s singles rankings after the US Open. Retiring to eventual runner-up finisher Juan Martin del Potro in the semifinals, the Spanish superstar is still your world number one on the ATP World Tour. Earlier this year, Rafa added one title to La Decima when he won his 11th at Roland Garros. He continues to be one of the players to beat in men’s singles tennis. Nadal is followed by two of his contemporaries who have both seen resurgences in the past year on tour.

Right behind Nadal in the singles rankings is Swiss legend Roger Federer. The current Australian Open champion continues to defy the odds, even at 37-years-old. He and Nadal see no change in their singles rankings following action at the US Open. This comes despite Federer seeing an unexpected fourth round exit at the hands of John Millman. The Australian tennis player completed one of the biggest upsets this year at Flushing Meadows, defeating Federer in an impressive 3-6, 7-5, 7-6 (7), 7-6 (3). While Federer was ousted from another chance at a US Open title, he remains a top player on the ATP World Tour. His stellar performance so far in 2018 has given him room to breathe in the men’s singles rankings. Trailing right behind both Nadal and Federer is Serbian superstar and recent US Open champion Novak Djokovic.
