Federer and Zverev fell to American tennis stars Jack Sock and John Isner in the doubles action on Day 3. Sock, who has largely struggled throughout his singles action on the 2018 ATP World Tour, has been one of the best doubles players in the world.
His fantastic play this week at the Laver Cup kept Team World in the running for a title. Sock went an impressive 6-0 in the doubles action this week in Chicago.
Despite the success of Jack Sock on the doubles side, the likes of Roger Federer and Alexander Zverev rose to the occasion in the final matches of the 2018 Laver Cup. Team Europe wins back-to-back titles, coming away with a 13-8 win over Team World.
Coming into the Laver Cup, Novak Djokovic might have been the favorite in the singles action. His success at the Wimbledon Championships and then again at the US Open have made him, along with Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer, the player to beat on the ATP World Tour. It is Federer and Zverev who go undefeated in singles action at the Laver Cup though. Team Europe can celebrate yet again.
