Eugenie Bouchard Signs New Racquet Sponsorship Deal

Former world number five Eugenie Bouchard signs with a new racquet sponsor after being without one for most of the 2018 WTA Tour.

After going most of the 2018 WTA Tour without a racquet sponsor, Eugenie Bouchard signs with Yonex. She joins a stellar cast of top players in women’s singles tennis who are sponsored by the company. Among the players are German tennis star Angelique Kerber, American Coco Vandeweghe, Caroline Garcia, and even recent US Open champion Naomi Osaka.

Since being dropped by her previous sponsor, Bouchard has battled her way back toward the WTA Top 100 in the women’s singles rankings. She is currently the world number 107 on the WTA Tour.

Strong performance during the grass court season has helped Bouchard gain some traction as of late. A run through qualifying at the Wimbledon Championships setup Genie for an opening round win at the grand slam event. She would fall in the round of 68 to 17th seeded Ashleigh Barty.

Bouchard’s run at the US Open would go similarly. After cruising through qualifying, Genie would win her opening match with ease before falling in the round of 64 at the major tournament.

Eugenie Bouchard sings a racquet sponsorship deal with Yonex. The 24-year-old Canadian tennis player also announces that Yonex was the first racquet she ever played with growing up.
