Angelique Kerber On Track For WTA Finals Success

Three-time grand slam champion Angelique Kerber is right on track for a successful run at the upcoming WTA Finals in Singapore.
With the WTA Finals right around the corner, German tennis star Angelique Kerber is someone to watch. She is coming off of a 2-1 singles record at the China Open. While she would fall to Zhang Shuai in the round of 16 at the event, Kerber did notch two stellar wins over both Kristina Mladenovic and then Carla Suárez Navarro.
Currently, Kerber sits in the second position in the Porsche Race to Singapore.

Atop the Race to Singapore is world number one Simona Halep. The Romanian is, however, struggling with an ongoing back injury as of late. She retires during her opening match at the 2018 China Open.
Angelique Kerber is a former finalist at the WTA Finals. Her strong play on the 2018 WTA Tour is setting her up for another shot at the title in Singapore. Kerber and Caroline Wozniacki could be the players to beat if Halep continues to deal with her injury.
The Race to Singapore features a good mix of veteran talent in the likes of Angelique Kerber and Petra Kvitova to go along with rising stars such as Naomi Osaka and Sloane Stephens. Right in the middle are the likes of Wozniacki and Halep. One thing is for sure though; the WTA Finals is sure to feature some thrilling action between the best in women’s singles tennis.
