Novak Djokovic has become the top contender to take the title at the 2018 Paris Masters. He faces Croatian Marin Cilic next.

Paris Masters action is now leaning in favor of recent Wimbledon and US Open champion Novak Djokovic. The Serbian tennis star will overtake Rafael Nadal in the men’s singles ranking, earning back the top spot in the sport as Nadal withdraws from action due to injury. Rafa has continued to struggle with ongoing injury issues for the last several months. After claiming his 11th career title at Roland Garros, the King of Clay is yet to return to top form.

Djokovic is now the favorite to take the title at the 2018 Paris Masters. He is a four-time champion in men’s singles at the event, winning most recently in 2015.

Also still alive at the Paris Masters is Swiss tennis legend Roger Federer. Just as Djokovic can take advantage of a Nadal absence, so too can Federer. The Swiss star is already qualified for the end of year ATP Finals in London. So is Djokovic.

Nole may be the favorite right now at the O2 Arena but Federer is plenty capable of displaying his absolute brilliance at any given moment. He is arguable the greatest tennis player to ever grace the courts in men’s singles. Djokovic may be catching up to him but he needs to keep up his health and momentum if he hopes to catch Federer.

Can Novak Djokovic take the title at the 2018 Paris Masters? He faces Marin Cilic next and the Croatian has some major incentive to play hard. Cilic is vying for one of the final places at the ATP Finals in London. Also competing with Cilic is young Austrian tennis star Dominic Thiem.
