Milos Raonic has struggled due to injury in recent years. Let’s take a look at what his near and longterm future could hold.

After reaching career heights on the 2016 ATP World Tour, Canadian tennis star Milos Raonic is yet to rebound to his prior state of play. Raonic became the world number three in men’s singles tennis after making a semifinals appearance at the 2016 Australian Open and then making the finals at the Wimbledon Championships.

Since 2016 however, the former world number three has been plagued with injuries. He is not the only top player in men’s singles to suffer from ongoing injuries. Even recent world number one and French Open champion Rafael Nadal has seen injuries get in the way of his play on tour.

Raonic has not won an ATP singles title since the 2016 season. This past year has been somewhat of a comeback though. Despite intermittent play and some early tournament exits, Raonic has strung together an impressive 32-15 singles record on tour in 2018. He even reached the finals at the Stuttgart Open where he fell to Swiss tennis legend Roger Federer.

Milos Raonic will bounce back on the 2019 ATP World Tour.

At just 27-years-old, Raonic ought to regain his high level of play as he sees more and more consistency on tour. If he can remain healthy, the tennis star should crack the ATP Top 10 in the coming year.

If you look at Novak Djokovic in 2018, he is a prime example of just how quickly a player can rise in the rankings. Nole surged mid-year when he won the Wimbledon Championships. He then went on to take a title at the US Open and has found himself in contention for yet another ATP Finals title.

Djokovic suffered from his own lingering injury issues and Milos Raonic can look at his performance this year as something hopeful for himself.
