Caroline Wozniacki is fresh off of a career year on the WTA Tour and we need to see more of her newfound play in 2019.

After a strong 2017 WTA Tour finish, Caroline Wozniacki carried her momentum right into the new year. She was already a proven tennis star in women’s singles. 2018, however, showcased a new side of Wozniacki that we need to see even more of in the coming year.

At the 2018 Australian Open, the Danish tennis star took home her first ever Grand Slam singles title. Riding high off of a 2017 WTA Finals win, Wozniacki went all the way to the finals at Melbourne Park, defeating Romanian star Simona Halep in a three-set thriller.

It is so difficult to win at such a high level, let alone win a Grand Slam. Now, Wozniacki is a member of an elite club. The kicker is that she did it at the first major tournament of the calendar year. While many players are still seeking consistency in their game, Wozniacki found hers early and capitalized on it.

Watch out for Caroline Wozniacki on the 2019 WTA Tour.

Throughout much of the 2018 WTA Tour, Wozniacki would go back and forth with Halep as they battled for the top ranking in the sport.

While the WTA Finals would go to another star in Elina Svitolina, Wozniacki walked away from back-to-back impressive years on the tour. She is now poised to add even more feats to a growing resume. Wozniacki is undoubtedly a top contender in women’s singles tennis right now and, assuming she remains healthy, there is no reason to think that will change for several years to come.
