American tennis legend Serena Williams transcends the sport and has become one of the biggest icons in the world. She moves up in this year’s Fandom 250.

Serena Williams is once again in the mix for FanSided’s Fandom 250 rankings. The American tennis legend is arguably the greatest player to ever grace a court except for maybe Roger Federer. She has dominated the sport of tennis for the entirety of her career. Now, Williams has become an icon in fashion and entertainment as well as a champion for human rights.

The WTA Tour is changing without Williams in the everyday action but that doesn’t mean she isn’t still capable of an impressive run. The American reached the finals at this year’s US Open, falling to first-time champion Naomi Osaka.

Just one year ago, Williams won another title at the Australian Open. She did so while roughly nine weeks pregnant. On top of that, she defeated sister and long-time rival and partner Venus Williams in the finals. Both Williams sisters continue to leave their mark on the sport.

Serena Williams moves up 18 places in the Fandom 250 rankings. She comes in at the number seven overall position.

Fans love Williams and, even if she steps away from the courts in the coming years, they will remember her forever. Her era may be coming to an end in tennis, but the American has already set historic records on the WTA Tour that will remain for generations.

Williams has 23 Grand Slam singles titles, 14 women’s doubles titles, and two in mixed doubles. She is hands down the greatest player in Open Era on the WTA Tour. Williams comes in at the number seven ranking on this year’s Fandom 250 list. That’s up 18 places from last year.
