The last time that Roger Federer lost a match, it was against Stefanos Tsitsipas. The two face off in the Dubai Tennis Championships final.

Action at the 2019 Dubai Tennis Championships sets up a HIGHLY ANTICIPATED REMATCH between two of the sport’s best players in men’s singles. Of course we have arguably the greatest player to ever grace a court in Roger Federer. He goes for his 100th title in the upcoming finals matchup this weekend.

Then, on the other side of the net, is the player who most recently defeated Federer in rising ATP star Stefanos Tsitsipas. We could not have scripted a better final.

These two went up against one another during the fourth round of this year’s Australian Open. There, it was the young Greek tennis star who emerged on top, defeating Federer in an impressive four sets. Their match included three tiebreaks and featured Tsitsipas cruising to a victory by winning the final three sets.

Federer has an opportunity to even the score with Tsitsipas. That meeting at Melbourne Park is the only time these two have faced one another throughout their careers. Take a look for yourself. Even though Tsitsipas bested Federer at the Australian Open, it is difficult to pick him in this instance.

There is no doubt that Federer is the greatest champion in the history of the Dubai Tennis Championships. The Swiss legend has seven titles in men’s singles at the event. He last won in 2015 when he defeated Novak Djokovic in straight sets during the finals. Tsitsipas has the optimism that comes from recent success against Federer but he needs to seemingly do the impossible once again.

Next. Djokovic's Success is GREAT for Tennis. dark

Federer is the second seed this year at the Dubai Tennis Championships. Tsitsipas is the fifth seed in men’s singles. The final goes down tomorrow at the event and we will find out if the young Greek truly has Federer’s number or not. We have to give Federer the edge but this one will go down in the history books.
