Action at Indian Wells rolls into the quarterfinals and semis this week. Here’s a look at who’s still alive in the women’s singles field.

One semifinals matchup is already set in women’s singles this week at Indian Wells. That is between the surging WTA Finals champion Elina Svitolina and teenage breakout star Bianca Andreescu. The 18-year-old Canadian looks to continue a dream run at the tournament when she takes on the Ukrainian great next.

Svitolina is the sixth seed in women’s singles and is coming off of two extremely hard fought wins. Andreescu, on the other hand, is bringing her own bit of momentum into their upcoming semifinals meeting. She is fresh off of a dominant performance against former world number one Garbine Muguruza.

Who will join Svitolina and Andreescu in the other semifinals matchup remains to be seen… Two quarterfinals matches are underway today at Indian Wells. The first goes down between the 23rd seeded Belinda Bencic and the fifth seeded Karolína Plíšková.

Bencic is playing fantastic tennis as of late and Plíšková is a former world number one. This is a must watch match at Indian Wells.

Either player can make a title run this week. Bencic is fresh off of a massive upset win over the top seeded Naomi Osaka. She knocked out Osaka in straight sets, winning 6-3, 6-1.

The other quarterfinals meeting features two veteran tennis legends in Venus Williams and Angelique Kerber. While the eighth seeded Kerber might have the edge right now, Williams is easily capable of a win. Flip through their previous meetings here. Kerber has scoreboard over the American great but they’ve gone back and forth over the years.

Currently, we like Svitolina to reach the finals at Indian Wells. If we have to pick the other semifinals meeting yet to be determined, we’ll go with Kerber versus Bencic, giving Kerber the slight edge to reach the finals. Anything can happen though as the women’s singles field is packed with talent in the remaining players. Check back to see who advances.
