Alexander Zverev is in need of a deep tournament run. He has a chance to spark his 2019 ATP Tour at the Monte Carlo Masters.

Can Alexander Zverev make a deep tournament run at the upcoming Monte Carlo Masters? In many ways, he needs to. Zverev has struggled to perform well in a handful of events so far on the 2019 ATP Tour. He is coming off of early exits at the Indian Wells Masters, the Miami Open, and the Grand Prix Hassan.

Monte-Carlo offers up a chance for Zverev to get back to what he does best. The young German is the third seed in men’s singles at the tournament.

Up first for Zverev could even be the red hot rising ATP star in Felix Auger-Aliassime. If that’s the case, he will face a somewhat unexpected test very early on at the Monte Carlo Masters. We have already established that the road to a title this year is not going to be easy for anyone. That goes for 11-time champion and King of Clay Rafael Nadal. And, that also goes for Zverev.

Novak Djokovic is the top seed at the tournament. Other players such as former champion Stan Wawrinka are in the mix. Zverev has performed well on clay in the past, even reaching the quarterfinals at the 2018 French Open. He could rise to the occasion this month at the Monte Carlo Masters and there is no doubt that he is motivated to do so.

We like Zverev to make a deep run at the event. It might not be the cleanest or easiest tennis to get it done, but Monte-Carlo feels like the place for him to jumpstart his ATP singles game right now. How far do you think the third seed will go this month?
