The 2019 Monte Carlo Masters has had its fair share of unexpected upsets in men’s singles. Daniil Medvedev completed one of those…

In the above photo, Daniil Medvedev celebrates his victory over the one and only Novak Djokovic at the Monte Carlo Masters. The up and coming Russian tennis player completes possibly the biggest upset of the tournament so far. This incredible win also comes after his strong perfjoamcne against Greece’s Stefanos Tsitsipas. He, just like Dusan Lajovic, is on a run of tennis for the history books. Either one of these players has a good shot at the title this year.

Medvedev also has wins over João Sousa and Radu Albot. This one, however, takes the cake. He sets up a match against Lajovic in the semifinals. The Russian is the current world number 14 and is the 10th seed this year at the Monte Carlo Masters. He has four ATP singles titles to his name, including one already on the 2019 ATP Tour. That came in Sofia. Will Monte Carlo be number two on the year? He needs to keep up this momentum if he hopes to get a shot at it this weekend at the Monte Carlo Masters.
