This one from the quarterfinals at the 2019 Monte Carlo Masters features Novak Djokovic congratulating the tennis player who upset him in dramatic fashion.

No one expected world number one Novak Djokovic to go out like this at the 2019 Monte Carlo Masters. The Serbian superstar falls to up and coming Russian star Daniil Medvedev. We’ve already discussed how the young tennis player is surging as of late. His run so far in Monte-Carlo is becoming more and more par for the course. Several rising ATP stars are making headlines in the past year and Medvedev is one of them.

Djokovic, who was seen smashing his racquet in several photos earlier in the tournament, is gracious in his defeat here. The world number one did earn two strong victories, over German tennis veteran Philipp Kohlschreiber and then another over American Taylor Fritz. We did NOT see this loss coming, but Djokovic will not be deterred. He is still the player to beat on the ATP Tour, even if it’s Rafael Nadal time with the clay court season in full swing.
