Dominic Thiem is into the finals this weekend at the 2019 Barcelona Open. To get there, he ousts the tournament’s greatest champion.

The Barcelona Open semifinals are complete and not without plenty of drama. Austrian tennis star Dominic Thiem entered the semis as something of an underdog, facing the tournament’s greatest champion in men’s singles. Rafael Nadal is an 11-time champion at the event and is the current three-time champ. That all changes this year.

Thiem completes a MASSIVE and decisive victory, defeating Nadal in straight sets. The third seed takes the semifinals match 6-4, 6-4.
