5. 2016 ATP Tour Finals vs Novak Djokovic

This saw the culmination of a fantastic year for Murray. He’d reached world number one for the first time and he secured the year-end number one spot with this win at the ATP Finals in London. He beat four-time defending champion Novak Djokovic 6-3, 6-4 to claim the title.

This was Murray’s fifth title in a row at the end of 2016 in what can easily be described as the best period of his career. As we previously mentioned, 2016 was a MASSIVE year for Murray. As of writing, it remains his one and only year with an ATP Finals title. Fittingly so, it come during a year of arguably his best tennis ever. Murray and Djokovic dominated during this time period and it will go down in history as theirs.
