Rafael Nadal remains unstoppable force at the French Open
By Harry Floyd
King of Clay Rafael Nadal is back at it again at the 2019 French Open. He earns a massive win over Roger Federer in the semifinals.
Action at the French Open is into the semifinals this week. While Roger Federer is arguably the greatest tennis player ever in men’s singles, Rafael Nadal is easily the greatest clay court player. The King of Clay is the two-time defending and 11-time overall champion at Roland Garros.
He’s living up to the hype so far at the 2019 French Open. Nadal has done it again, defeating Federer in straight sets at Roland Garros. He ousts the Swiss tennis icon in the semifinals, winning 6-3 6-4 6-2.

Federer has rediscovered his game as of late, but he could not keep up with Rafa. The Spanish superstar cruises to a victory and now awaits the winner of the other men’s singles semifinals matchup.
Novak Djokovic is the top seed this year. His match against fourth seeded Austrian tennis star Dominic Thiem is currently underway, suspended during the third set. It is Thiem in the lead as of writing, up 6-2 3-6 3-1.
Last year, Thiem fell to Nadal in the finals. If he can reach the championship match yet again, he will have a shot at redemption. If, on the other hand, it is Djokovic who advances, Nadal will be challenging an opponent who has won the last three Grand Slam singles titles.
So far at the 2019 French Open, Nadal has dropped just a single set. That sole set came during his meeting with David Goffin in the round of 32. He would quickly bounce back in that match, taking the final set with ease. Roland Garros appears to be Rafa’s to lose.
Hats off to Federer for another impressive tournament performance. He is always one to display brilliance on the biggest of stages and there’s zero shame in falling to Nadal during the semifinals at the French Open. Look for Federer to gear up for action at Wimbledon next. As for Rafa, stay tuned to see if he can win another title at Roland Garros.
