In a stark contrast to the other London venue on this list, Centre Court at Wimbledon is the true embodiment of tennis. Largely considered the most famous tennis court in the world, Centre Court holds 14,979 spectators. The court was first created in 1881 for the 5th year of the Wimbledon Championships. It’s the most historically significant place in tennis, without a doubt. It paved the way to establish other major tournaments with their own premier courts due to the success at the Wimbledon Championships. It features a retractable roof with its fair share of history of its own. Even the minor details, such as the scoreboard and the Royal Box, are easily recognizable upon first glance.

Centre Court has produced some of the game’s best moments of all-time; it’s the most famous court in the world for a reason. Without Centre Court’s immense popularity and success, it’s possible that the other Grand Slam events might not even have been created at all.
