Stefanos Tsitsipas (Greece)

Stefanos Tsitsipas is one of the game’s brightest stars. He won the Next Gen ATP Finals in 2018, and followed that up with a Nitto ATP Finals victory the following year. At 21 years old, he had the best year of his career in 2019, winning two other tournaments alongside the Nitto ATP Finals in London. He’s also reached the finals of many premier events, such as the Masters 1000 Canada and Madrid events (2018 and 2019), as well as Dubai in both 2019 and 2020.

Tsitsipas’ Grand Slam luck hasn’t been the best; apart from reaching the Australian Open semifinals in 2019, he hasn’t been the most consistent 2nd-week player. He hasn’t been past the Round of 16 apart from the one semifinals appearance. At 14-11 in Grand Slam tournaments, Tsitsipas needs to step up his game in order to be considered as one of the best players in tennis.

When the Greek is on his game, however, it’s a sight to see. He has a very balanced game, which allows him to play well on all three surfaces. Once he gets out of the gate and wins the first set, he has a stunning match record of 93-10. It’s clear that he has the ability to break through and become one of the game’s best players, and given another year or two, it’s possible we can see him climb back up into the top five, where he sat less than a year ago. Once he becomes a steadier player in Grand Slams and can consistently put himself into the second week, he’ll be a force to be reckoned with.
