Novak Djokovic and Ricardas Berankis met for the fourth time on Saturday and for the second year in a row at the French Open. Djokovic once again got the better of Berankis, defeating the Lithuanian in straight sets 6-1, 6-4, 6-1 in an hour and 32 minutes. Here are the highlights from the match.

Berankis was able to improve by one game compared to the last time they met at Roland Garros, as Berankis only won five games against Djokovic last year. This was Berankis’ first time playing in the third round at the French Open, losing in the second-round last year.

This was another straightforward win for Djokovic, as he did not face a single break point in the entire match. Unforced errors really hurt Berankis, hitting 36 to along with just 20 winners. Berankis was trying to be aggressive with his backhand throughout the match but would miss long or wide often. Djokovic on the other hand had 30 winners to go along with just 18 unforced errors, according to Infosys Match Centre.

Djokovic was solid on the return of serve, winning 49% of the points, which led to nine break point chances. He would break six times in the match, twice in the first set, once in the second, and three times in the third.

Novak was also great on the first serve, where he would win 88% of the points when he got his first serve in. His second serve win percentage was much lower, sitting at 52%, but still 20% higher than Berankis’ second. In the end, it was just another comfortable match for Djokovic, as he now leads the head-to-head 4-0 over Berankis.

Next up for Novak Djokovic will be the Italian Lorenzo Musetti, who beat fellow countryman Marco Cecchinato earlier on Saturday in five sets. It will be the first career meeting between the two, as Musetti is in the fourth round of a Major in his first main draw appearance.
