The semi-finals of the French Open are set, as the last two women booked their spots on Wednesday. In the semi-finals, we have four players who have never made it this far in a Grand Slam before in their careers, meaning we will have another first time Major champion on the women’s side.

Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, Tamara Zidansek, Barbora Krejcikova, and Maria Sakkari are the four women who remain in the draw, as Sakkari and Pavlyuchenkova are the only seeded players left in the tournament.

Each of them has had a top 10 win in the tournament to make it to this point, as Sakkari beat Iga Swiatek, Pavlyuchenkova defeated Aryna Sabalenka, Zidansek took out Bianca Andreescu, and Krejcikova won against Elina Svitolina.

So, who is the best player remaining in the draw, and who is the biggest underdog to win the whole thing right now? Here are my reseeded standings for the final four women left in the French Open draw.

#4: Tamara Zidansek

I believe that Tamara Zidansek is the biggest underdog left in the tournament, as she really has not had as difficult of a run to the semis as the other players have. She only had to defeat one seeded player thus far, defeating Andreescu, who has been battling injuries for some time now and did not look anywhere near her best in that first round match.

I believe that the other women left in the draw provide a lot tougher competition than what Zidansek has had in the first five rounds, except for maybe the win against Paula Badosa in the quarterfinals. I believe Zidansek has the smallest chance of the remaining players to win the title.

#3: Barbora Krejcikova

Krejcikova has only dropped one set the entire tournament, losing the first set in her first-round match against Kristyna Pliskova. Since then, she has won 10 sets in a row on her way to the semi-finals. I believe that she is number three on the list because of who she has to play in the semi-finals. If somehow Krejcikova can get past Sakkari in the semis, she has a great shot of winning the whole thing, as I believe she has what it takes to beat Zidansek or Pavlyuchenkova in the final.

The problem for Krejcikova is getting there, as I believe Sakkari is on another level right now. Krejcikova has had some big wins so far, with wins over Svitolina, Sloane Stephens, and Coco Gauff. I think it will be difficult to advance the finals, but I would definitely not count her out with the way she is rolling right now in the tournament.

#2: Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova

Pavlyuchenkova is the second highest seed remaining in the draw, and I also believe that she has the second-best chance of winning out of the players remaining. I think that the experience that she brings with being on the WTA tour for 13 years will help her a lot against these inexperienced players.

Pavlyuchenkova may have had the toughest draw out of the four, having to beat the number three seed Aryna Sabalenka in the third round, then defeating Victoria Azarenka in the fourth round, before taking out Elena Rybakina in the quarterfinals. Those are some massive wins, as she should be carrying a ton of confidence into the semi-finals. I think that she is better than Zidansek at the moment and should be the favorite to advance to the finals.

#1: Maria Sakkari

The highest seed left in the draw is number one on my list, as she should be the favorite to win the entire tournament now. She has only lost one set so far at Roland Garros, which was to Elise Mertens in the third round. I honestly thought she had no shot against Swiatek in the quarterfinals, but she proved me wrong, as she was controlling the points and punishing Swiatek with her powerful forehand.

Sakkari just beat last year’s finalist and the defending champion in her last two matches, so I definitely would put her as the player to beat now in the tournament. The confidence Sakkari brings on the court is unmatched, as she genuinely believes she can beat anyone in the game right now. The way she is playing right now, I think it will be hard for one of the other three players to stop her, as she is clearly the best player remaining in the draw.
