Which player was on the receiving end of an ‘unacceptable’ line call from an umpire?

A very bizarre incident occurred during a first-round match at the 2023 Roland Garros.

A player hit a forehand down the line, while grunting. However, the grunt seemed to extend longer than the liking of the umpire, who immediately stopped the rally and called a hindrance. At first, both players did not notice the call from the umpire. However, the player on the receiving end of the penalty eventually did notice, and went to the umpire to discuss this, claiming it was just a grunt. However, the conversation was to no avail, and the umpire refused to change the call.

Which player has admitted his only goal is to be pain free-not having a results goal

Despite a solid win in the round of 128 of this year’s French Open, one certain player has refused to add any pressure to his run. This player re-iterated that their only goal was to be healthy. This is what they had to say.

“I think every tournament, it’s not like — I don’t really go into it thinking, Oh, I have won a lot, or I haven’t won a lot. Every tournament for me is different, and it’s new. In general, I haven’t had like the best success in Roland Garros. So for me, this week is, more than anything, it’s to see how my knee is, to test it out, and to try to play pain-free. Everything else is a bonus.”
