The 2025 edition of the Australian Open gets underway on Sunday, January 12, and will run through Sunday, January 26. The favorites for the tournament are likely last year's winners. Aruna Sabalenka won on the women's side, and Jannik Sinner won on the men's. Both players are also currently ranked No. 1 on their respective tours.

The tournament takes place at Melbourne Park in Melbourne, Australia, and has been since 1988. The final for each side is held at Rod Laver Arena, named after the icon from the 1960s. Laver will also likely be an often-seen presence at the event.

Beyond Sinner and Sabalenka, the favorites might be Carlos Alcaraz, Daniil Medvedev, and Alexander Zverev on the men's side, and Coco Gauff, Iga Swiatek, and Elena Rybakina on the women's side. Novak Djokovic will also be participating, but he did not win a major last year and began this season with a relatively early loss at the Brisbane International.

How to watch and stream the 2025 Australian Open

Depending on where you live (or wherever you are reading this), you might have to hunt down how to watch and stream the tournament. The good thing is that, for the most part, we have done that for you here. Also, if you live in the Western Hemisphere (except Canada), you can simply tune into ESPN and watch the event. (If you live in Canada, and good for you if you do, you can watch on TSN and RDS.)

Also, most every place you can watch, such as ESPN, also has a streaming part as well. Many of the streaming services might allow you to watch more than one match at a time as well.
