The 2024 Davis Cup finals will get underway on Tuesday. The event will feature the eight teams that made it through qualifying to reach the finals. Some of the players involved include Jannik Sinner of Italy, Taylor Fritz of the United States, Carlos Alcaraz of Spain, and Alexei Popyrin of Australia.

But let's be honest. If the Davis Cup finals get a massive increase in viewers this year it will likely be because the event will be Rafael Nadal's last. The Spanish great announced his retirement earlier this year and said the Davis Cup would be his final event. He is unsure if he will play in singles, but he will probably play doubles with Alcaraz.

The USA has more of the higher-ranked players as Fritz, Tommy Paul, and Ben Shelton all rank in the top 21. Italy has top-ranked Sinner and No. 17 Lorenzo Musetti. But if tennis fans have learned anything, it is that any team is capable of winning the Davis Cup. That is one thing that makes the tournament so fantastic.
