Maria Sharapova and Bryan Brothers to be inducted into International Tennis Hall of Fame
Maria Sharapova, Bob Bryan, and Mike Bryan will all be inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame in 2025.
In August this year, the International Tennis Hall of Fame announced the class of 2025 ballot. Sharapova, Bryan Brothers, and Daniel Nestor were among the nominees, and a few months later, the voting results were announced.
Sharapova and Bryan Brothers will be recognized for their tennis careers by being inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame during a ceremony that will take place in Newport, Rhode Island, from August 21st to 23rd, 2025.

Sharapova was one of the most successful tennis players during the era dominated by the Williams sisters. During her tennis career, the Russian player won five Grand Slam titles and completed the Career Grand Slam by winning each at least once.
She also reached the World No. 1 spot in August 2005 and won a total of 36 career Tour-level titles. With $38,777,962 earned during her tennis career, Sharapova is also the fourth-best earner in the history of the WTA Tour.
However, her tennis career was also overshadowed by controversy. In 2016, she failed a drug test at the Australian Open, testing positive for meldonium. Initially, she was suspended for 24 months, but her ban was later reduced to 15 months by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
Sharapova still follows the sport, often appearing at various tournaments, and given her career achievements, her induction is certainly not a surprise, something Kim Clijsters, who is the President of the International Tennis Hall of Fame, agrees with.
The former Belgian player announced the induction of Sharapova and Bryan Brothers, saying: "I am honored to welcome Maria Sharapova and Bob and Mike Bryan as the International Tennis Hall of Fame’s Class of 2025. Beyond each of their historic accomplishments on the court, the Class of 2025 have had such a profound impact on the game of tennis and have inspired multiple generations of fans across the world. We look forward to celebrating them in Newport next year."
The Bryan Brothers were the most successful doubles duo of all time, and their induction also doesn't come as a surprise. In their careers, Bob won 16 doubles titles and 7 mixed doubles titles, while Mike won 18 doubles titles and 4 mixed doubles titles.
They both won also over 100 Tour-level titles, with Bob collecting 119 trophies, while Mike's cabinet includes 124 titles. They also have a gold Olympic medal from the 2012 London Olympics, a bronze from the 2008 Beijing Olympics, and one Davis Cup title, representing the United States of America.
According to the official International Tennis Hall of Fame website, the 2025 Induction ceremony should "usher in a new era for the Hall of Fame that highlights the best of tennis culture through art, fashion, music and more."
