Nitto ATP Finals Prize Money: Who has a chance to still get the bag
By Lee Vowell
The Nitto ATP Finals have been pretty black and white so far. Each match has been decided in straight sets. This might make it fun to figure out who moves from the round-robin stage of the event to the semifinals. The deciding factor might come down to who has the best record in terms of sets won or lost.
There are still a few players who have not been beaten. This includes Casper Ruud and Alexander Zverev, who will face each other later on Wednesday. Clearly, one of those players will still be unbeaten with a chance to win huge money at the tournament. ATP No. 1 Jannik Sinner has also yet to lose.
Each of the eight players involved in the ATP Finals - Sinner, Zverev, Ruud, Carlos Alcaraz, Daniil Medvedev, Andrey Rublev, Alex de Minaur, and Taylor Fritz - got a good increase to their bank accounts just by showing up in Turin, Italy. They were paid a participation fee of $331,000 if they played in all three matches in the round-robin part.
Who still has a chance to earn huge prize money at the Nitto ATP Finals?
If a player wins a single in the round-robin match, they get paid $396,500. The large amount of money begins if a player can win a semi-final match and then the final. Should Sinner, for instance, win a semis match, he would get $1,123,400. Whoever wins the entire event brings home $2,237,200. Ruud, Zverev, and Sinner, however, all have a chance to double that.
An undefeated champion will earn $4,881,500. Sinner currently leads the ATP tour in prize money won in 2024 with $12,032,935. Alcaraz is second with $9,122,838. The Spaniard has no chance to catch Sinner atop the prize money winners for this year, though, as he already lost his first match at the ATP Finals to Ruud.
Alcaraz, nor anyone else, has a chance to catch Sinner in terms of year-end ranking either. The Italian is guaranteed to finish the year No. 1. He is only adding to his point total in Turin, but should he (or Zverev or Ruud) go through the tournament undefeated, they would earn 1,500 points. Ruud and Fritz have a slim chance of moving up to No. 4, while Zverev is almost assured of ending the year at No. 2.
