Tennis fans know that Novak Djokovic is arguably the greatest player to ever pick up a racket. He might not have won a major since 2023, but he almost always makes deep runs at Grand Slam tournaments. That is an astonishing feat for someone who is 39 years old and doesn't play all that often.

The reason for his long-standing success might go beyond his technique in hitting a forehand or wicked two-handed backhand. Instead, the origin of his brilliance might come from him simply being a fantastic athlete. Djokovic is elite at tennis, but he's good at other sports, too.

This was proven at last week's Fanatics Fest when the Serbian was tasked with making 3-pointers. Not only did Djokovic drain one or two tries, but made three consecutive shots. What was clear is that this wasn't the first time that he had picked up a basketball. His form was, as anyone would expect, technically perfect. He barely even touched the rim.

Novak Djokovic showed off a skill fans never expected to see

Did the 24-time Grand Slam winner act surprised that he was doing so well? Not at all. Instead, he behaved as if he had done the same thing many times before, and he likely has.

All of this might make one wonder what would happen if Djokovic were the new Bo Jackson, at least as far as commercials go. In 1989 and 1990, Nike produced several ads directed by Joe Pytka. The commercials showed Jackson, who played in the NFL for the then-Los Angeles Raiders and baseball with the Kansas City Royals, performing different sports, including "Bo Knows" (the sport).

Novak Djokovic isn't going to have the same exact draw in the United States simply because tennis isn't as popular as football (it should be, of course, but it isn't), but the ads could be globally successful. One would obviously show Djokovic playing basketball, including "Djoker knows basketball," and so on. A cricket ad? Sure. Definitely a soccer (real football) commercial.

Djokovic didn't stop at showing off his considerable basketball skills, either. He also made his WWE debut. He entered the arena with a blue mask on, crawling on all fours (in essence, to imitate a wolf), and then howling, "Wooo!" Was it silly? Yes, but it was all done in fun, too.

Of course, the all-time tennis great is doing a lot of these kinds of things to build up anticipation for the new Amazon Prime documentary, Novak Djokovic: The Wolf in Winter. That drops on August 20 and should make for must-watch streaming for fans of all sports.
