Iga Swiatek checks an important life event off of her bucket list

It was almost as inevitable as Iga Swiatek winning her fourth French Open title last week after coming within a point of defeat to Naomi Osaka in the second round. Tennis fans know a few nonnegotiable facts about the Polish World No. 1 player. She is a great tennis player. She enjoys reading books. She is a huge Taylor Swift fan.

Swiatek is not a bandwagon Swiftie. She was a fan for years before Taylor Swift's iconic 'Eras' tour. When Swiatek turned 22 at last year's French Open, she wrote on the camera, a lyric from Swift's 22 song.

She has been peppered with questions about when she would see a Taylor Swift concert, most recently in Madrid. Swiatek coyly talked about her schedule but also made it clear that if the opportunity presented itself, she was going.

Swiatek went to a recent show and admitted afterword that she cried. This is a common emotion that Swifties have when taking in this iconic concert.

Iga Swiatek also got a personalized souvenir from Swift, a handwritten note congratulating her on her fourth career French Open, her third consecutive one.

It is safe to say that Swiatek will treasure that note alongside her many trophies that she will continue to accumulate during her already Hall of Fame worthy tennis career.

The 23 year old is taking some time after a spectacular clay court season, but she will have her game face on shortly preparing for Wimbledon. She finished in the quarterfinals in 2023, a career best. Despite her stronghold on the clay and ability to win on hardcourts, grasscourts seem to be her Achilles heel. If anyone can overcome this obstacle, it is Iga Swiatek.

In the meantime, she will revel in her clay court 'Era' and her much deserved time off spent watching Taylor Swift.
