38-year-old retired Spanish tennis legend Rafael Nadal is reportedly expanding his family. His wife Maria is pregnant with the couple's second child. The pair have been married since 2019 and welcomed Rafael Nadal Jr. in 2022.
Tennis fans are adjusting to the first official European clay court season without Nadal. He played his last competitive tennis match in September for Spain in the Davis Cup.
Nadal is adjusting to life after tennis, but it is encouraging that fans have seen more of him lately on social media. He is making TikTok videos and sat for an extensive interview with Andy Roddick and his Served podcast.
Upcoming Rafael Nadal sightings
Rafa has not officially confirmed the news that his family is expanding. However, we will find out soon enough. We anticipate the Nadal family will be at Roland Garros next month. The French Open is planning a formal celebration during the tournament to commemorate Nadal's unbelievable accomplishment of winning 14 times at Roland Garros. He will also reportedly be tasked with being a French Open ambassador.

Nadal already has a statue on the grounds, but the French Tennis Federation wants to do more. Rafa is 100 percent Spanish, but the French have adopted him as one of their favorite athletes. That was evident at last year's Paris Olympic torch ceremony when he was a torch bearer in the Opening Ceremonies, a tradition typically reserved for host country athletes.
Thank you @Olympics for sending me this very special torch.

At the Paris 2024 Olympic Games I experienced one of the most emotional days of my career and I’m thrilled to keep this torch in a remarkable place in the Museum ☺️ pic.twitter.com/NPsnZpOHq8
Rafael Nadal is also the subject of an upcoming Netflix documentary, which is expected to be released later this year. It documents Nadal's final year on the ATP Tour and is a fitting send-off, similar to Roger Federer's Twelve Final Days, which premiered on Amazon Prime last year.
Could we see Nadal as a spectator at tennis matches this year? After seeing Uncle Toni Nadal in Alexandra Eala's box at the Miami Open, fans are hopeful. Eala is a Filipino tennis player and graduate of the Rafael Nadal Academy who had a breakout tournament, defeating three Grand Slam champions before losing in the Miami Open semifinals.
