Carlos Alcaraz is on his way to becoming one of the greatest tennis players of all time. He already has four Grand Slam titles to his name, along with an Olympic silver medal. Yet, even after winning two Grand Slam titles in 2024, he still has only scratched the surface of the player he can one day become.

Alcaraz had an up-and-down year in 2024, which is crazy to say of a guy who won half of the Grand Slams. However, he did finish the season as the world No. 3 in the ATP Rankings, proving that he was inconsistent outside of the four biggest tournaments.

Although not the best player in 2024 (that goes to Jannik Sinner), Alcaraz has had an incredible start to his career. He has already broken many records and will continue to break more as the rest of his career unfolds. By having a down year by his standards, we should see a hungry and motivated Alcaraz ready to break out in a big way in 2025.

If Alcaraz were to accomplish these three goals in 2025, it would be an incredible year and would give him a huge boost in further climbing the greatest of all-time rankings.

Three biggest goals for Carlos Alcaraz in 2025

Win the Australian Open

The one Grand Slam trophy missing from Carlos Alcaraz's collection is the Australian Open. He currently holds the record as the youngest men's player to win a Grand Slam on all three surfaces and could hold another big record with a win in Australia in 2025.

By winning the 2025 Australian Open, Alcaraz would surpass Rafael Nadal as the youngest men's player to win all four Grand Slam titles, and he would accomplish it at just 21 years old. That is certainly a record Alcaraz is eyeing this coming season and is at the top of his list to achieve in 2025.

Win seven or more ATP singles titles

Carlos Alcaraz won just four ATP singles titles in 2024, his fewest in a season since 2021. Unless he wins all four Grand Slams in 2025, Alcaraz will need to win more than four tournaments to finish the year as the World No. 1.

Jannik Sinner, who was the best player in 2024, won eight ATP titles over the course of the season. Alcaraz is likely to need at least seven titles in 2025 to push for that world No. 1, which is something he would love to achieve again. Winning seven or more titles this coming year would also mean that he played much more consistently during the course of the season, which would be a big improvement from 2024.

Win the Nitto ATP Finals

Outside of the Australian Open, the other big trophy Carlos Alcaraz is still looking to get his hands on for the first time is the Nitto ATP Finals. Alcaraz has yet to reach the final of the tournament, and in 2024 went 1-2 in the group stage.

A strong end to the season will be extremely important if Alcaraz wants that year-end World No. 1 ranking, and a Nitto ATP Finals victory would go a long way in securing that top spot. Staying healthy and playing a smart schedule in 2025 will help him get to the end of the season in the best shape possible to capture his first title at the year-end event.
