The 2025 US Open begins this coming weekend, and at first, it will be overwhelming. Hundreds of players are vying to get their hands on a Grand Slam title. One of the best parts is that Venus Williams is going to enter the tournament as a wildcard.
The 45-year-old might not have a real chance of winning, but she has won two trophies in New York (2000 and 2001). Just having her around will be worth it.
But what if Venus Williams wins? How much will she earn? Or any other player? And who might have a great chance at taking the title? All is unveiled below.
US Open 2025 need to know: Prize money, seeds, schedule and lots of other things
The draw for the US Open will take place on Thursday, August 21. The seeds are already known, however.
If you want to make good money, be great at tennis. The US Open pays the most of any major, and $5 million for the winner is good money. Even better, the men and women make the same amounts.

US Open 2025 draw and seeds
One would assume that on the men's side, Sinner, the 2024 champion, should be the favorite, but he was getting dismantled in the Cincinnati Open final by Alcaraz. Maybe the issue was an injury, but the Spaniard knows he can beat the Italian on Sinner's best surface.
Or maybe an American finally breaks through. The last time an American man won was Andy Roddick. Taylor Fritz was a runner-up last year. Maybe the world is made right by Frances Tiafoe capturing the title in 2025.
- 1. Jannik Sinner
- 2. Carlos Alcaraz
- 3. Alexander Zverev
- 4. Taylor Fritz
- 5. Jack Draper
- 6. Ben Shelton
- 7. Novak Djokovic
- 8. Alex de Minaur
- 9. Karen Khachanov
- 10. Lorenoz Musetti
It is difficult to believe that it has been almost a year since Gauff won the US Open. She has continued to have a great run, but she is no longer WTA No. 2. The red-hot Iga Swiatek has jumped over her. Swiatek might be considered the favorite in her current form.
One player who won't be involved in No. 7 Qinwen Zheng. She is out for several months due to a right elbow injury. She has the game to one day compete for the title in New York.
- 1. Aryna Sabalenka
- 2. Iga Swiatek
- 3. Coco Gauff
- 4. Jessica Pegula
- 5. Mirra Andreeva
- 6. Madison Keys
- 7. Jasmine Paolini
- 8. Amanda Anisimova
- 9. Elena Rybakina
- 10. Emma Navarro
US Open 2025 schedule:
Two full weeks and a day. The only problem with the scheduling is that most of the tournament runs during a time when it could be the focal point of the sports calendar. However, on men's final Sunday, the first week of the NFL season begins. Maybe the tournament should run to a Saturday so that the women's final is Friday (or Saturday) and the men's final is Saturday (or Friday).

Wimbledon 2025 predictions
Picking a winner, especially on the ladies' side, as tennis fans have seen some unexpected winners lately, is tricky. On the men's side, it's easier. Either Jannik Sinner or Carlos Alcaraz will win. The previous sentence will be rinsed and repeated for the next five years.
Alcaraz is the pick, though. Sinner is more consistent (though the Cincy Open final was weird), but if Alcaraz is playing his best, there is no one better.
On the women's side, Swiatek is playing so well currently that picking against her is difficult. This is especially true if she reaches the final. While Aryna Sabalenka is basically break-even in finals for her career, Swiatek is 24-5 in finals, but 6-0 at Grand Slams.
