ATP Estoril: Draw Preview and Predictions
The 250 Millennium Estoril Open gets underway for the first time this week in Portugal. Whilst not boasting a big name in the men’s field, there are plenty of players who it will be interesting to follow as the week progresses.

Top seed Feliciano Lopez leads a host of Spaniards into the event, which is often the case at clay court tournaments where players from the west of Europe have grown up and developed on the red dirt.
Home hopes seem to be solely pinned on Joao Sousa, who is the most like man for Portugal to make an impression on the field. The remaining local players come in the form of wild cards and Sousa is the only one to have made it to an ATP tour final in the past.
Draw and Predictions
Top Half – Feliciano Lopez
The draw is headed up by Feliciano Lopez, the Spaniard benefitting from his impressive standing of number 12 in the world. He faces a routine draw up until a potential quarter final meeting with Nick Kyrgios.
It is hard to expect much from the young Australian, whose season has been staggered by injury problems. He also hasn’t had much time at the top of the game on the clay and it might not be the surface that is most suited to his aggressive game style and huge serve.
Tommy Robredo should never be ignored at these kind of 250 events, especially on the European clay. He receives a bye in the first round as well as Lopez, as is seeded to meet Gilles Muller in the quarter finals, whose season is slowing down after an impressive start to 2015.
Bottom Half – Kevin Anderson
Serving giant Kevin Anderson is the second seed who headlines the bottom half of the draw and attention is immediately drawn to a potential second round meeting with the in-form Guillermo Garcia-Lopez.

The Spaniard is fresh of a victory on the clay in Bucharest and will be full of confidence. Add in the fact that, should he make it past a qualifier in round one, he will have had a match under his belt in Estoril, Anderson will have to be wary of an upset.
Leonardo Mayer of Argentina is the seeded semi final opponent for Anderson, but once again can afford to look no further than a possible meeting with another Spaniard, Nicolas Almagro, in the second round. Almagro has had some stellar results on clay and that would be a fantastic match to watch.
