The grunts and noises made by tennis players have been receiving more and more attention in recent years. Debates surrounding the necessity of grunting continue and some tennis fans are running out of patience with some of the louder players on tour.
Jimmy Fallon has taken the grunts in a light-hearted manner, editing together a series of clips into a hilarious music montage. The highlight of which has to be Italian Francesca Schiavone, who has already built a reputation on tour for her vocal exertions during a match.
The video caught the imagination of a number of tennis professionals, with Swiss great Roger Federer even retweeting the clip. Federer happens to be one of the quieter players on tour when it comes to grunting, although he is clearly no stranger to opponents making some noise.
Grunting has actually been a source of some discussion in recent years. Whenever fans are asked about things they would change about tennis, banning, or at least limiting grunting is often one of the more popular solutions. In some matches it can certainly get a bit out of hand.
